Audit Report Writing and Communications
Strategies
Seminar Details
This seminar
applies risk-based auditing techniques to develop audit reports
that are informative and convincing, add value, and drive
action. Each participant receives a workbook containing explanations
and examples from actual audit issue sheets and reports, and a laminated
audit report guide.
The workshop
breaks down report writing into strategic and structural elements covered
in five modules. Examples of topics covered follow:
-
issues from
facts and test results collected during fieldwork. Sample concepts
covered
-
Reporting
issues, not symptoms
-
Understanding
how root cause analysis applies to audit reports
-
Providing the
reader with convincing, value-added risk statements
-
Determining
how much and what type of support to include in audit comments
-
Developing
specific, measurable, achievable, reliable, time-bound recommendations
or action plans
-
Simplifying
audit comments by recognizing and reducing audit jargon, confusing words
and phrases, and pompous, unnecessary language.
